Missions

It's our belief that missions work, whether "on the other side of the pond" or in our own backyard, is a vital part of the Christian experience.

Beyond the day to day, loving-your-neighbor kind of things that we endeavor to practice, our church took a bold new step in December 2008 to become a missional tithing church, meaning that no less than ten percent of what our church takes in must go back out to help build God's Kingdom here on Earth, from Aliquippa to Cuba, China, and back! Two recent examples of this monthly tithe include helping secure refuge camps for Burmese children in Thailand and helping efforts to build a men's shelter in Beaver County.

With specific reference to foreign missions, our church family has always been a strong supporting force of our missionaries and the work abroad, both in prayer and in finances. Within the past year, however, we've felt that the next step in our efforts to expand the Kingdom include going abroad ourselves. To this end, we'll be putting together a team, along with a sister Free Methodist church in Monaca, PA, to travel to Cuba in early 2010. As more information becomes available, links to it will be posted to this page.

As always, we want to extend a hand to work together in these efforts. If you're interesting in helping with our missions work or have an idea for a missions project, please contact the church office.
