Meta Groups
"For where there are two or three gathered together in My name, there am I in their midst."
Matthew 18:20

μετά.

We know, it's probably "Greek to you." That's because it is - literally!

In Greek, meta (μετά) is a prefix sometimes meaning "with", "adjacent", or "along side of." This is its meaning as a root of the word "Methodist." We believe the fact that this word helps to make up the very name of our church conveys a very important idea - that we're "all in this together." Hence, we find it to be an appropriate nickname for our small group ministry.

Meta Groups meet with five general purposes in mind:
  • Bible Study
  • Prayer
  • Fellowship
  • Encouragement
  • Accountability
Most commonly, Meta Groups meet weekly, wether in a home, a restaurant, a park, or even a parking lot for that matter. The only rule of thumb is that these groups meet somewhere other than our Church meeting place. Not only is this a way to reach out to the community, but it's also a way of reminding ourselves that people, not buildings, make up the Body of Christ.
